Secure and Increase Service Sales

Customer satisfaction is the most important thing for successful long-term business relationships. This does not stop after the delivery and installation of equipment. Rather, it depends on every day practical use. What if equipment has planned or unplanned failures? Ideally, equipment should run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year free of errors and failures but, according to experience, 100% uptime is not possible.

Therefore, manufacturers of industrial equipment offer comprehensive service and maintenance contracts, which support safe and cost-optimized operation of equipment. From a business perspective, these are important business and revenue fields for manufacturers.

Collect and Utilize Data

In order to ensure low costs for maintenance and service, it is important that equipment is equipped with appropriate intelligent functions. Once equipment is installed in the field, it must be ensured that previously defined information is regularly collected and centrally evaluated. Through preventative planning of service and maintenance measures, downtimes can be minimalized and preventative maintenance can be thoughtfully scheduled and carried out.

A further advantage of this approach is that knowledge gained from collected data can be used in the development of a next generation product.

This can help to achieve cost-optimized operation in the field, and increases the availability of equipment

Data Structure

The essential basis for the quality of collected data is a complete and above all well-structured data model, which can also be flexibly expanded. Our approach creates a solid foundation for this from the very start. We are experts in the field of “model-based” development and work closely without our customers, who contribute field-specific knowledge.

Event handling – Recording and Handling of Specified Events

Previously defined events are collected during the operation of a piece of equipment and are recorded with different classifications. These events can be, as an example, events which could lead to failures or substantially affect ongoing operation. All events are reported to the control center and from there appropriate measures – for example a live diagnosis – are initiated carried out.

Live-Diagnose – On-site and Centrally Assisted

Diagnosis typically occurs directly on site through service technicians. The current condition of a piece of equipment and the events and deficiencies that led to that condition are recorded. If the equipment is connected to the internet, it is also possible to diagnose it remotely through the control center.

Preventative Service – Long-term Collection
and Evaluation of Data

Long-term data allows for trend analysis to be carried out. This may, for example, concern the performance (parts wear and tear) or the safety of a piece of equipment. Thanks to this approach, numerous maintenance activities can be proactively and/or preventatively planned and executed. The recording of long-term data is also defined in the data model, which analyzes and defines which data is relevant for long-term recording.
